TowLab did not begin as a software product. It began as the system our own company needed. Running Onyx Auto Towing in Fairfax, Virginia, we required a dispatch board that kept pace with incoming calls, driver pay that calculated itself, and storage billing that was accurate the first time.

Paper boards were unreliable, spreadsheets went stale, and the larger fleet platforms were priced and structured for a different kind of operation. So we built the tools we needed ourselves — dispatch board, driver pay, sales summary, impound lot, live map, customer records — one module at a time, while continuing to run calls.

That system became TowLab. It still runs our operation today, and it works the same way for every company that uses it: jobs dispatched, drivers paid, revenue accounted for. Towing companies across the country now operate on it as well.
